Giving
sphinxx is committed to giving back to organisations that share our values and support the advancement of women. Each one of our development days is aligned to one of our favorite charitable organisations (as nominated by our members and participants) and we also direct our operating profits to selected organisations that support the advancement of women.Some of the organisations we currently support include:
- Life Changing Experiences runs the SISTER2sister mentoring program offering youth ‘at risk’ around Australia the opportunity to break the cycle of trauma and past experiences and develop strategies for personal change and growth. sphinxx funds big sister - little sister mentoring matches in the annual program.
- OzHarvest supports at risk communities and our environment by collecting and providing excess food. Sadly many women and children access the charities that OzHarvest supports, often as they flee dangerous domestic relationships. We support the work of OzHarvest in providing nutrition and dignity to these women and children.
- Unifem promotes women's human rights, political participation and economic security. sphinxx is a corporate member and supports fundraising projects here in Australia and the Asia Pacific region.
- The Bonnie Babes Foundation is a free grief counselling service for families that have experienced the loss of a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth or prematurity and related issues such as infertility. We have supported Bonnie Babes with book donations and promotion.
- Room to Read transforms the lives of millions of children in developing countries by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education. sphinxx has funded the entire primary and secondary schooling program of a young girl in Vietnam. We hope she will then have the same opportunities we have access to.
- Plan Australia forms part of Plan International, one of the oldest and largest children's development organisations in the world and has no political or religious agenda. sphinxx endorses the Because I'm A Girl campaign and currently sponsors a young girl in Pakistan.
- Mummy's Wish supports mothers who have been diagnosed with cancer. sphinxx supports Bernadette and her team with mentoring, professional development and through supporting and promoting their fundraising events.
