About sphinxx

sphinxx is a community dedicated to advancing women as leaders. Founded by SheEO Jen Dalitz, sphinxx is about creating a place and an environment where women who mean business are the majority -- a rare change for most women in leadership positions.

At sphinxx we value the unique contribution that women leaders make to Australian workplaces and communities. We value organisations that appreciate the difference that women bring to their leadership roles; and who celebrate this difference rather than see it as something to be “fixed”. We value the lady and the lioness in every sphinxx leader and believe women leaders can be feminine and ferocious – it doesn’t have to be a trade off. And we value the determination of working women who dare to pursue the dream of “having it all” – even when the best laid plans are interrupted by personal and professional lives at cross purposes.

Research conducted by sphinxx within our community of women executives, senior managers and entrepreneurs told us that women leaders need more than networking opportunities to push through the glass ceiling:
- Being a minority in their workplace, they crave the opportunity to freely voice their ideas, opinions and experiences with others just like them;
- Seeing so few women at the very top in their business, they seek role models and advice from other women who have broken through;
- Feeling excluded from the boys club, they realise the benefit of developing relationships and creating alliances with other leading women; and
- With competing demands on their time, they appreciate trusted referrals to product and service providers who understand and value successful businesswomen as a segment.

Our goals

With this in mind, sphinxx was founded with the goal of helping businesswomen to succeed by saving them time and facilitating connections; and creating workplaces that women leaders will thrive in.  sphinxx achieves the first of these goals by screening, sorting and rating the vast products, services, information and networking events directed at successful career women and disseminating the output via online and offline channels: 
- The sphinxx web portal www.sphinxx.org, custom-built to share recommended products, services, professional development and networking events within the community;
- Online forums and blogs to facilitate knowledge transfer and discussion on issues important to women leaders;
- Group mentoring sessions with women leaders, providing access to female leadership role models;
- Peer support groups that encourage women to share their professional challenges in a safe environment and to benefit from the collective wisdom and insights of their group members; and 
- Boardroom events providing the opportunity for women to connect and talk business with other women, and for organisations committed to the support and advancement of women leaders to showcase their offerings.

To help create workplaces that women leaders thrive in, sphinxx is educating leaders of women on the obstacles and challenges to attracting, retaining and developing women talent in their business.  Research, trends, feedback and advice are shared with leaders via keynote presentations at conferences; via workshops with leadership teams and women’s forums; via articles published in mainstream media and online channels; and through tailored consulting.
