sphinxx is all about supporting women. Now it’s your turn to support a woman who desperately needs our help

This is a special story for those of you who have had children, because you’ll probably still remember the name and face of your midwife. Imagine the following story happened to you or to her. Debbie Middis is a midwife in Darwin. Last week her home was burnt down in an arson attack. Her house was destroyed and very few items were salvageable. But the truly heart breaking part of this story is that her son, eight year old Nicholas died in the fire. My heart just breaks for her, a woman who has given her life to supporting women and raising her boys… click here to read more and find out how you can make a donation to help the Middis family.

Is Australia suffering from the “Stupid Curve”? New research and new name for how we're utilising our national talent

Apparently so! “The stupid curve” phenomenon (named by former Deloitte USA Chairman Mike Cook) that describes the curve you see in graphs that source 90% of their leaders from only 50% of their workforce. New Blog from Caitlin Reed, guest blogger dietician and fitness expert with practical tips and approach info on how to avoid winter weight gain

When the mercury starts to drop outside, many of us move ourselves inside to where it’s warm. Exercise sessions are replaced with comfort food in front of the television. We pull on loose trackie pants and jumpers to cover the few extra kilos we’re putting on. Don’t let this winter be like every other and follow dietitian and fitness expert, Caitlin Reid’s five healthy winter tips… click here to see what they are.

Buy a copy of The Modern Woman’s Anthology and support depression in women.

This book brings together 22 women revealing a range of insights through personal stories based around what it means to be a woman in today’s world – with all proceeds going to the Black Dog Institute and research into depression in women. I wrote the first chapter titled “Lessons of the Land” and I’m followed by Olympian Cathy Freeman – it’s most certainly the only time in my life I’ll cross the finishing line ahead of her!
