New research shows the employers are taking flexible working arrangements seriously, and reaping the rewards. Find out how

Wednesday, September 08, 2010

An executive level survey by the Australian Human Resources Institute has confirmed that Australian businesses are investing in flexible employee arrangements since the introduction of the Fair Work Act, with 71% of respondents reporting that flexible workings arrangement requests are taken seriously.

And only 12% of respondents claiming that they are not more likely to take it seriously. More then a third are investing more in maintaining flexible work arrangements then they did before the Fair Work Act.

For the complete stats found in the report, click here. Findings include whether employee flexibility became easier (mixed results, majority positive), whether execs believe legal advice is necessary when assessing flexible working arrangements, and the interesting (but not very surprising fact) that 70% of respondents report that senior management calls on staff to work sensible hours, but a staggering 61% of senior management do not model that behaviour.

What is your behaviour showing about your company’s expectations and paths to success? What do you want it to show, and how would you change it?
