Life Balance Series: Free opportunities in Sydney to improve work-life balance

Wednesday, May 26, 2010

Sometimes the easiest way to get better work-life balance is to commit yourself (and your family, friends or partners) to attending stand out events you know you’ll want to go to even if you’re tired.

I found a couple of great free or chap events and offers in Sydney in late May and June, so you have enough time to plan to get there, and they all offer different enjoyment or personal growth benefits.

So in the interests of working and living well, pick an event! Let us know how it is once you’ve gone in the comment section.

17th Biennale of Sydney: 12 May - 1st August
Free giant art exhibition in a variety of locations around the MCA, showcasing some amazing and occasionally very odd artworks. Make a day of it and explore the whole exhibition, there are plenty of cafes along the way!

Vivid Sydney: 27th May - 21st June
A festival of light, music and ideas. A wide range of events, mainly free, that transform the every day city by night into a luminous inspiring realm. Find an event and get your friends together and witness the transformation.

Sydney East Art Walk
So it’s not the cheapest event ($55) but it claims to be ideal for “jaded office workers”. A three-hour walk from the Art Gallery of NSW to Martin place, exploring the artistic surprises and hidden treasures of Sydney. Includes a café stop at the end.
