We know that violence supporting attitudes are still prevalent in our society. Just take a look at the Four Corners documentary ‘Code of Silence’. The White Ribbon Foundation asks all Australian men to challenge these attitudes and behaviours, so that we can begin to drive real change in our community. The White Ribbon Foundation calls on ambassadors such as David Gallop, the CEO of NRL, to be role models for respectful relationships and to lead the way for creating change. These men are role models, and their influence on the youth of today is incredibly impactful.

Australian Government’s response to Time for Action has been warmly welcomed by the White Ribbon Foundation. $41.5 million immediate funding has been announced, with a focus on primary prevention through attitudinal change. With the cost of violence against women predicted to rise to $15.6 billion by 2021, it makes good economic sense if the scale and urgency of the problem is reflected in this year’s, and future Commonwealth, State and Territory budgets.
