It doesn’t seem like long ago that employers were deploring social networking sites as time wasters, and adding Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to their blocked sites list faster then we could keep in touch then we could add our peers to our online networks. But recruitment firm Robert Half has discovered the employment benefits on “ego surfing” your social networking presence is worth it.

“While there is an element of vanity at play in doing an online search of yourself, it is actually a wise idea, especially for those on the job hunt given how many employers are engaging in the social media space”
