Congratulations to Kate Sykes - founder of CareerMums and new Telstra ACT Business Woman of The Year

Thursday, September 23, 2010

I was thrilled to receive Kate's email yesterday announcing she had taken out the ACT Telstra Businesswoman Award for 2010.  Many of you know Kate Sykes - she has been a speaker at Ascend - and CareerMums, that seeks to help parents re-enter the workforce.  I'm sure you'll agree with me that Kate is a worthy recipient of this top honor, as well as a fabulous advocate for working women, and her recognition with this award further reinforces the rising priority for business to find and keep the best women on their teams.

CareerMums is a national  jobs board and careers centre that advertises job opportunities for working parents and provides employers - including some of Australia's leading companies - with a pool of specialist candidates.

Other winners of the sixteenth Telstra ACT Business Women's Awards, announced today in Canberra, were Canberra Southern Cross Club General Manager Carol Sawyer, Property Council of Australia (ACT) executive director Catherine Carter, ACT Health executive Brenda Ainsworth and owner of hair and beauty salon CJ's Style, Carly-Jane Tozer.

Our congratulations go out to all of you!
